Trust is very important in selecting a loan officer and/or mortgage loan company. I have gone to Brian Foster for help in the last three refinancing applications because I trust his intuition, his understanding of our personal needs, his diligence in researching the best options, being on top of things and dealing with questions. I appreciate the readiness of the escrow department in collecting necessary documents and facilitating the signing. We had the notary come to our residence at 7:30 p.m.

I was referred to Chi Nguyen by a real estate agent here in Wenatchee, WA. I was a first-time home buyer and absolutely clueless about the whole process. I contacted Chi on a Saturday night, because I had just found out that the home I was interested in was about to get an offer from someone else. I needed a pre-approval letter. Chi promptly responded and was ready to help me out. Due to the stories I had heard about getting home loans, the rates, hidden fees and many of the negative aspects that occur, I was pretty skeptical about lenders. The first house did not work out. Regardless Chi did everything quickly and professionally. I dropped the agent I was using at the time who referred me to Chi, and I began looking at other homes with a different agent. When it came time to get serious about another home, I contacted Chi to get a quote, but I also talked to a bank about my options. As I said, I was without experience and wanted to learn as much as I could. The person I talked to at the bank required A LOT more for a down payment, and the rate was higher. This made me wonder what Chi was hiding for his quote to be so much better. I compared the numbers side by side and researched what each fee was. As far as I could tell, there were no hidden concerns, but I knew the truth would come out in the end when the final numbers were drawn up.
I think it was about this time when I asked Chi if he could meet up with me, and he told me that he lived in Kirkland! To my surprise, everything was done quickly and professionally, without a hitch, so location made no difference. I found the house I wanted, and as soon as I was going to put an offer in 2 more people decided to as well. I lost the battle to someone else who must have had a better offer, but within a few days of it going pending, the deal fell through and I put in an offer before anyone else had the chance. I offered a higher number than I had previously and shortened up the closing time to only 25 days! It all had to happen very fast, and Chi was always ready and efficient. The offer was accepted, and we closed on time with no problems at all. What is even more amazing is that I had to put less money down than what I expected, the rate was unchanged, and no hidden fees were added. I couldn’t believe how much better the rate he had was, as well as the amount down. Even the agent I was working with was shocked at how good he is at his job. She said that she will definitely refer her clients to him in the future.
Chi and I actually became friends through the process. He is very personable, and never made me feel like I was asking stupid questions. He answered me with a thorough explanation that was easy to understand and made me feel like I could call him anytime if I needed anything else. Chi Nguyen really knows his stuff when it comes to mortgages. Buying a home is scary when you don’t know who to trust, but I got lucky and had the opportunity to work with Chi. I am fortunate to know him. He was always good at reminding me that buying a home should be fun, exciting and worth it once it is all done. I literally enjoyed the whole process from start to finish. Washington First Mortgage finally got me out of refinance purgatory!My partner and I started this process 15 months ago. I had absolute confidence in the value of the property, the income it brings in, and I knew there was a ton of equity.But we were turned down, lender after lender after lender. I’ve lost count of the number of banks we applied with.Granted, we both have serious credit black marks. But we have since acquired several properties and have been up to date on our bills.One lender was about to approve us but their appraiser came in with a lowball value. I challenged it to no avail.Another lender strung us along for MONTHS with a pre-approval, and repeatedly asked for more and more documentation. There was always something new he needed, it was never-ending, and this guy never returned phone calls and never returned emails.Thank God I met Donald Hathaway and in turn, Tryg Satterlee.
